The City of Georgetown Utility Office, located in the Municipal Complex at 300 Industrial Avenue, handles connects, disconnects and payments for water, electricity, garbage, wastewater, and stormwater drainage. Utilities Connects and Disconnects

Application for utility service can be made by coming to the Georgetown Municipal Complex at 300 Industrial Avenue, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. You can also apply online by clicking here.

Utility Bills

Utility meters are read and bills mailed to customers every month. Customers then have 20 days to pay their utility bill and are responsible for the timely payment of the account, regardless of whether the bill is received or not. If the bill is not paid by the due date, a penalty of 10% of the current bill is applied to the account and a final notice reflecting the balance plus penalty is mailed. The final notice gives the customer additional time to pay the bill. Utility service will be disconnected if the payment is not received in the Utility Office in full by the extended due date on the final notice. The total balance due must be paid in cash after disconnection to have the utilities reconnected.

The City would like to introduce Energy Depot for Homes and Water Depot, your new, on-line resources designed to answer energy and water related questions from residential customers. Energy Depot provides an on-line, do-it-yourself home energy audit that addresses a full range of residential systems and appliances. You can choose between a full-blown personalized audit or can opt for the EZ audit that just takes a few minutes to complete, and both are available in Spanish. Water Depot provides online tools you can use to analyze your household’s water use and cost.

If you need help getting into the program or setting up your account, please feel free to call the Utility Office at 512-930-3640.
